The Antioch Baptist Church in Cherokee County is close to Blacksburg, so use the Blacksburg, SC address. I don't know whether the route/box address has been changed, but I suspect the mailman can still find the church Grover, SC is nearly 200 miles from Blacksburg. The Grover that's nearby - less than 10 miles from Blacksburg - is Grover, NC. Ralph Helen Simmons Carey wrote: > Posted on: Cherokee Co. It may be that the addresses that you have are for a Church Officer and not the physical location of the Church. I don't think that there are any Route and Box addresses in Cherokee County anymore - the 911 system gave everyone a street address. I'm also not sure whether there is a post office in Grover so Blacksburg would likely be the right post office.... SC Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/SC/Cherokee/46 Surname: any ------------------------- Generally, local courthouses in South Carolina do not provide for vital records archives. In many counties that do have archive records, many people report they are simply not cooperative with genealogists. I personally much more enjoy North Carolina research where I can go to the Register of Deeds and have access to almost anything I want in the old vital records. That said - there are many good resources for research in Cherokee County, among them are the LDS center and the collection of the local library. Any other good local ideas?
