List Members, I know that this request may not be the most proper etiquette-BUT I NEED YOUR HELP!! I desperately need verification and a copy of a marriage license that was performed somewhere in South Carolina. I am also a genealogist (25 yr), a mother and grandmother that is fighting to keep her grandson out of an very abusive and dysfunctional home of the other grandmother. Time is running out-they are packing to move in a very short time. The judge said that if I can prove that this marriage did exist, our daughter can get her son. The record I need was filed between 1990-1993 by LAWRENCE LINDOL CURTIS and TINA MARIE HARRIS/ALEXANDER/HOARD. I am praying that someone in each county lives close enough to the county seat to check it out for us. Please reply to me, and I will give you my fax number AND get your mailing info, so I can send you $50. to cover the cost and your expense. Thanks in advance to all that can help. I believe I may have some information. The father of my grandmother, Ella Scott Bolt, was John B. Scott (married Harriet Farley). I have to look it up but there is also a Willie Scott and a Daniel Scott. Will try to find the paper and send the information on to you. Ella's sister, Mary, married Eugen Bogar and there are still many Scotts and Bogars in the Hardy area, Pike County, along Narrows Branch. Does any of this sound as if it might be your Scotts? L. D. If the Mill is on the National Register of Historic Places, then it can be searched on the following website. I used the service last fall. http://www.cr.nps.gov/nr/research/nris.htm James Stone > Does anyone have any info on Furnace Mill, located just off SC 11 in Cherokee > County and near the Cowpens National Battlefield? It is a SC Historic site.

His birth record (if any exists) and the census of the time would be in Spartanburg, York, or Union County as Cherokee was not "official" until 1897 - if he is listed in the 1900 Cherokee census then that might give you a clue about which "parent" county he was living in. I'd be interested in more information about Sam's Seminary in Gaffney -- that's a new one to me.... c. turner -----Original Message----- From: neilmc@mindspring.com [mailto:neilmc@mindspring.com] Sent: Friday, March 09, 2001 7:56 PM To: SCCHEROK-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [SCCherok-L] William S. SC Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/SC/Cherokee/10098 Surname: MALONE, WILEY ------------------------- I am searching for Cornelius MALONE and his family. They are believed to have been in the Camden District of SC (possibly Cherokee County now) in the late 1700's. His wife is believed to be Drucilla and one of their daughters is believed to be Sarah "Sally" MALONE (b01/03/1795). Sarah is my g-g-g grandmother. Sarah married Elijah WILEY and was in Morgan County, AL at the time of her death. Cornelius MALONE was found on a census of Morgan County, AL immediately following the listing of Elijah's family.
Hello Everyone, I am looking for information on my Great-greatgrandfather Oliver Perry Morgan. He was born to Pereminter and Mary Morgan about 1835.He had siblings who were Rachael I.,Mary E., James M., Nancy C., and Lucinda. They show up on the 1860 Cleveland County,NC Census but other times they are shown in South Carolina. This leads me to believe that they lived just over the line in South Carolina possible near Grover or just west of there. Elizabeth McSwain of Cleveland County,NC declared him the father of my Greatgrandfather James Monroe Morgan and there is a Bastardy Bond. He later married Rosannah Roberts.I am particularly interested in Perry's father Pereminter Morgan. This is not the Rutherford County,NC preacher but seems to be related in some way because of the first name. I have been told that his father may have been William. Any leads or information will be truly appreciated. I will share all that I have. I don't believe it is true that you must have Cherokee blood to be buried in Oakland Cemetery. My wife's grand parents and great grand parents are buried there, and they didn't have Cherokee blood.
I don't think that is true because they sell the lots but I will call the city adminstration and find out for you. I think you just buy the lots though . Patsy
