    3. Thought this might be of interest to those (like me) who spend far too much time in front of the computer... ========================================= ========================================= History Channel at http://www.historychannel.com Family Tree : Tracing your family's roots is an exciting and fun exercise in personal history. It used to be that filling in branches of a family tree was often impossible or would take years of research, but now it's much easier thanks to internet databases. Follow professional and amateur genealogists as they reach back through time to discover a fascinating personal history. Actor William Baldwin traces his family's roots back to 1638. Screenwriter Randall Wallace's interest in learning about his Scottish surname becomes an important factor to inspiring him to write the screenplay of Braveheart. African-American Rohulamin Quander unlocks his family's history by discovering the evolution of his name. DNA testing has also become critical to clearing up facts about kinship mysteries, such as whether Thomas Jefferson fathered slave descendants, and whether or not Queen Victoria was illegitimate. 3. Another place to look for these records is at Furman University at Greenville, South Carolina. We went to Furman and found a great deal of information. The people there are very cooperative and went out of their way to help us. Its worth a try if you are in the area. Gerald Clark

    3. Have been to the church as have several of my fellow HUSKEY researchers... there is no index that I recall and no remaining records. We likewise have some "people" who we feel are buried there but not able to confirm. Unfortunately this seems to be the case with many of the old churches in this area. ----- Original Message ----- From: <Burdetvs@aol.com> To: <SCCHEROK-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, August 16, 2001 11:00 PM Subject: [SCCherok-L] Re: Goucher Baptist Church > > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Classification: Queries > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/QeB.2ACI/146.1 > > Message Board Post: > > Good luck. My paternal great grandparents are buried in the cemetery at this church. I wrote the church some time back asking about the existance of old records, etc. Did not get any reply even though I called them to follow up. There is a film of church minutes available from the FHL in Salt Lake City. Unfortunately I found nothing on my family. > > > ============================== > Add as many as 10 Good Years To Your Life > If you know how to reduce these risks. > http://www.thirdage.com/health/wecare/hearthealth/index.html >
