    3. The 1920 Census Index for Cherokee County is online at ftp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/sc/cherokee/census/1920/1920cher.txt Cherokee County was created from parts of York, Spartanburg, and Union Counties in 1897. You reference Noah Jackson as from "Cherokee, Spartanburg, SC" -- if that is Cherokee Township then it was probably a part of Spartanburg county but if that was the community of Cherokee Falls then it was likely part of York County. The community of Cherokee SC in 1895 appears to be along what is now the SC11 corridor and would be North East of Boiling Springs SC (see 1895 map at http://cherokee.ourfamily.com/formation_history.htm ) and therefor probably still located in Sparntanburg County. Cherokee Springs is presently in Spartanburg County between I85 and SC9 south of Mayo and east of Boiling Springs SC. Historic Cherokee Church (also present Cherokee Creek Baptist Church) is halfway between Gaffney and Chesnee north of SC11 inside Cherokee County. Hope this all helps a little. I'm trying to find where Noah L. Jackson was buried and when he died. He was listed on the 1880 census in Cherokee, Spartanburg, SC. I've checked Spartanburg county microfilms. However, I now see that Cherokee became Cherokee county. He is listed as 32 years old in the 1880 census. He was married twice, once to a Catharine, and then to a Barbara Rish. Any information on the family would be greatly appreciated. I'm also trying to find out who his parents were. Thank you. 3. Hi. I was wondering if anyone has an index to the 1910 or 1920 Cherokee Co. census? I have a trial subscription to the census images on ancestry.com and I'm trying to find Noah L. Jackson and/or his family. However, it's taking forever without an index, I'm afraid my trial subscription will run out before I find them. Thank you. Noah L. Jackson married Catharine and then Barbara Rish.
