Hello listers, This is my first post. I am just starting on my Germany surname line. What a hard family to do a search on! Thanks to some kind researchers I have something to go on now. I am expecting an article on this family and 4 pages of research in the mail soon, but I thought I would post a little now. According to several sources, seven sons of Henry Germany of Ireland came into Charleston, SC about 1730's. They later migrated to Savannah, GA and on to Augusta. Then some stayed and some moved west into Mississippi. My line stayed in Columbia County, GA, at least some of them did. Sarah Germany married Dr. William Collier in Columbia County in 1811. As far as I can tell the7 original brothers died in Charleston. They were "Irish" John Germany, Robert, James, William, Samuel, Joseph, and Alexander. I am just beginning to get info, but am hoping there are some other Germany relatives around. Contact me if you know of this bunch. Best to all on the list.
