Hi. I am looking for anyone with 19th century Costello or Hogan roots. My great grandfather Michael Costello and his father Jeremiah came to Charleston about 1849 from Askeaton, Limerick, Ireland. Michael married Ann Hogan in 1859 and they had one son, Patrick, in 1860. He was a Johnny Reb, and also worked on the Ironclads. There were about 6 other Costello families in Charleston at that time. I have traced Daniel Costello back to Croom Parish, Limerick, Ireland. I am assuming quite a bit, but it was probable that they were all cousins from Limerick.
