I think my great-great grandfather, Israel Jones, may have died in the Civil War as I can track him to the late 1850's from Charleston to Beaufort. He and wife, Sarah A. Henry Jones, had a daughter Rebecca A. who was born in Beaufort @ 1855. Can't find any records until after 1874. I know most of Beaufort's records burned. Anybody have any ideas for an alternative source? Thank you, Caroline
