Hello List: I am searching for information on my gggggrandfather George Curling born in Charleston in 1784. George was a Ship Carpenter from England. He married Ann Maragret Henricksen. They had a daughter Caroline or Catherine Hopper Curling. I don't know if they had other children. I have found little information on this family. They moved to Alabama sometime after the civil war and he died in 1860. I was told by various family members that The "Curling" family at one time owned all the land that was Charlestown before the Civil War and that when the courthouse was burned during the war all deeds were lost. I have hit a brick wall and would appreciate help. Caroline or Catherine married John P. Boyle in Tuscaloosa, AL May 4, 1843. Are there any cousins out there???
