George Haig MD my gt. gt. gt.grandfather who owned a lot of property and 270 slaves had a home in Charleston and also in the Low Country had died in 1789. I have learned aboout him inly in the past few months. I recently learned that he had owned a lot of propert on DeFauski Island near Hilton Head SC. A light house was built there later and was called Haig Light House. I understand that it is now a Bed and Breakfast. I wrote to someone there who knew about Light houses.
