    1. Re: [SCCHARLE] ST. James Santee connections
    2. The neighbor ROBERT is my line. Judy << Yes, indeed I had DUBOIS in St. James Santee. I guess you could say that nearly all DUBOIS before 1800 in SC were related to my line, at least as far as I've been able to tell. I would love to know what is in Anne Bridge's history. It is possible I've seen it, but just did not make a note of my sources at the time [shame on me; I'm changing my habits.] I have info such as Petit Jury and Grand Jury and Tax lists showing several DuBois' in St. James Santee, for example. My ancestors' earliest land grants were probably in the St. James Santee area. Watch for JASPER DUBOIS, JOHN DUBOIS [four of them], and SAMUEL DUBOIS. However, sometimes some DUBOSEs end up being mentioned as DUBOIS, so other names such as JONATHAN are likely to be DUBOSE. I'm mentioning all of this in case you have the book handy and can tell if it is truly my line. Neighbors include: JAUDON, ROBERT, SERRE, NEWMAN, JUIN/JUNE [also ancestors of mine], PALMER, PAGETT, BONNEAU, PEYRE, TRAPIER >>
