    3. Glad the info was helpful, Elizabeth; Let me know if I can help you set up your relational database. You can have my data model if you like. When I am not indulged in the passions of genealogy, I pay the bills by setting up relational databases at work. I wrote a genealogy database for myself in Microsoft Access. It works well for me. It helps me answer questions like "Tell me all the people who lived 22 St. Philips St., and the year they lived there." Your welcome to use this program as a base, if you like; or you can try and find one on the market. Do you know anything about "Romaker's Lane"? My Jesse Nell b.1754 was a rope maker in Charleston. I'm looking for any clues to his parents. The Historic Charleston WEB site has not gotten to this street yet. The St. Philip's block party is going well! 3. Bill- I suspect your ancestor lived on the street that is today called 'Ropemaker's Lane" On my 1788 map it was called Rope Lane and only had 3 houses on it (with one additional one on the corner of Rope Lane and Meeting Street.) It was not a through street and the house at the end was quite large, the other two much smaller. Unfortunately the street it is not included in the Text for Guides of Historic Charleston (my source for address information), so I can't shed any additional historical info on its origins.
