My Elizabeth Davis (b. abt 1729-d. abt 1815) married Francis Postell, Sr. (b. abt. 1725- d. abt 1770). Francis Postell was the son of Jacques (James of Berkeley) Postell and Judith Unknown. She was mentioned several times as receiving money from the government for things she had done during the Revolution therefore, James must have been dead by then. We have no leads on Elizabeth Davis Postell at all. Nor any leads on Judith Unknown Postell's maiden name. From all the tidbits I have read about her, she must have been quite active during the Revolution. Any help with either of these lines would be most appreciated. I don't know how many Davis' were in the Charleston area during this time frame. If anyone has any information on Capt. David Davis, I would love to have it. Who knows, Maybe he is the father of Elizabeth. It would be nice. Thank you so much. Carol
