I know I have to keep reminding myself that people cannot "hear" the tone of "voice" I'm using when I type and sometimes when I send something well-meaning I sound like a real witch. Just remember that when you put things in caps [surnames always acceptable in caps] it is like shouting, so saying PLEASE sounded something like my recalcitrant 13-year-old when he is demanding something rather than politely asking.
