Hi Elizabeth, Regarding William Axson , who married Elizabeth S Mouzon: This is one of those not sure of families . I believe this was William Axson , who was born 1739 , son of Samuel Axson b abt 1714. According to some records , William Axson b 1739 married Elizabeth S Axson , they had the 3 children you mention , ( their marriage date and the birth dates and christening dates of the children are in the St Thomas Records ) then William Axson married Mary Minnott , they had 4 children .( have their info if interested ), I can not find any records in regards to Jehu Axson . There is a lot about a "John Axson" who married 1st Martha Ann ( surname ? ) 2nd Mary Ann Gibbs . This couple had no children , but they had adopted Laura Washington Michau . But once again this all seems to fit but , I can not be sure in regards to his parents. Do you have a birth date or death date for Elizabeth S Mouzon Axson ? Who were her Parents ? From the St Philips Parish records there is an " Elizabeth Axson burial Sept 29, 1802 " Does any one have info in regards to her? CJK

I just did a search in the St. Thomas/Denis records on Ancestry.com and came up with the marriage record for WILLIAM AXSON and ELIZABETH SUSANNA MOUZON on 8 October 1761. The server went down on me before I could look up SUSANNA ELIZABETH MOUZON. I would just comment that I have seen instances of these records reversing names, seeming to conflict with other records. Perhaps she was christened under one name but came to be known by the other name. SUSANNA E. had a sister, SUSANNA MARY, and perhaps the family decided to call the former ELIZABETH to avoid confusion. Or perhaps the christening name was in error.
