I learned today that one of my ancestors may have been Baptist. He was born in Charleston in 1873, and his family lived at 18 Spring St. His mother and his descendants were Lutheran so I have never done research in the Baptist church records. Could someone point me in the right direction? What Baptist churches existed in the 1870's in Charleston? Are the baptism and marriage records available at the churches? at a central archive?
