    1. [SCCHARLE] Gov. Thomas Smith (Landgrave) & Medway Plantation
    2. Paul & Fredreica Speyer
    3. I am planning a trip to Charleston next month to research the (my) family of Thomas Smith. I would like to visit Medway Plantation and, if it is still standing, the Josiah Smith House. Where are the SC State Archives located? Anywhere near Charleston? Is there a Genealogy Library in town? Good Courthouse records? I am looking for records on the SMITH, WARING, GENDRON, BALL, STEVENS, LEE, SMISER, SCOTT, DARRELL and FISHBURN families of Cainhoy, St. Thomas/St. Denis Parish, Berkeley, Charleston Neck, Hyde Park, St. John's Parish, Goose Creek, and Waterboro areas around Charleston, SC. Any hints, leads or suggestions woud be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Fredreica PS. I am also descended from Thomas Bennet of Charleston and woud like to know if his house is still standing?

    3. The South Carolina Archives and the Caroliniana Room of the University of South Carolina are in Columbia, SC. Columbia is a couple of hours straight up I-26 from Charleston. I wouldn't plan to go on a Univ. of SC home football game weekend!
