Craig Jr. celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 17th a weeklong series of festivities in Charleston, S.C., where the couple first met. The culminating event was a dinner/reception at the Charleston Club, which was attended by 105 relatives from various parts of the country and abroad. The evening included a prayer by Barry Craig, a marriage history presented by Ronald Craig, a creative dance by Kristal Craig, an original poem recitation by Byron and Kiah Craig, a special dedication by Candice Craig and a song, “The Wind Beneath My Wings,” sung by Carl Craig. Concluding the program was a videotape of vignettes of family activities through the years. Kellee Craig served as mistress of ceremonies with Bruce Craig, assisted by Mrs. Perciel Delaine of Charleston, as program coordinator. The honorees were presented with an engraved crystal plaque. Hosts for the event were the couple’s sons and their families, Bella and Walter Craig III and daughters Alyssa, Erica, Nicole, Tammy and Raylan; Bruce and Diane Craig and daughters Kellee, Candice and Kristal; Ronald and Lill Craig and children Mira and Marcus of Oslo, Norway; Carl and Angela Craig and daughters Kai, Taylor and Jordan of Los Angeles; Victor Craig and children Byron and Kiah of Arlington, Texas; and Barry and Tammy Craig and children Danielle, Lauren, Sydnee and Jorden of Fort Worth, Texas. The Craigs were married Dec. 29,1949, in Charleston at the home of the bride. She is the former Ruth M. Roper. __________ Article should read 51st anniversary, not 50th; 1949 - 2000.
