    3. I am interested in t any Yates / O'Hara relationships Oliver O'Hara married a Yates but even in a second marriage was still friends with the Yates family. Oliver fights in the 1812 War - becomes the first mayor of Key West and he dies in France. He goes to Key West in 1823 and stays till after 1850. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Laurie" <jmlsray1@bellsouth.net> To: <SCCHARLE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, November 02, 2000 1:40 PM Subject: [SCCHARLE] Charleston surnames > Hello I am new to the list and thought I would share my surnames in hopes that someone out there is researching them too. 3. I do have a YATES/O'HARA connection. I have a William Henry YATES married to Caroline Lawrence O'HARA. William was christened in 1802. I have no other dates for him or Caroline. I am related to William's brother he was my ggggrandfather his name was Francis Saltus YATES. Francis married Harriet AIR. Francis also owned a bank or had large shares in a bank at the time of his death. I look forward to hearing from you again... Laurie ----- Original Message ----- From: "Hugh M. 3. I suspect the Yates headed to New York - but I would not bet on it Oliver had property there that he passed on to Carolina Lawrence. I will dig for this. P S I recently found in the 1840 Cincinnati City Dir a Marcus O'Hara who was a brassfounder. This is an extreamly hot lead in my research. Why His son, Rufus, who is in the 1850 Baltimore Census. age 2, and in the St Louis census in 1850, age 1, is on a FL land deed as a witness. in 1871. Land bought by my G G Grandfather, Charles Francis O'Hara, born March 18 1814 either in Pittsburgh or Tyrone Ireland. Rufus was born in 1849 in St Louis He died in 1878 possibly in Phelps Co., MO. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Laurie" <jmlsray1@bellsouth.net> To: <SCCHARLE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, November 02, 2000 10:32 PM Subject: Re: [SCCHARLE] Charleston surnames > I do have a YATES/O'HARA connection.
