Does any know the location of dividing line between the Parish of St. James, Goose Creek and the Parish of St. Philip's/St. Michael/s (City of Charleston). Did the boundary MOVE with growth of City ? Also, did the Parish of St. James, Goose Creek include the area known as "Charleston Neck" or "the Neck". Per a microfilmed copy of early Charleston City Directory, Charleston Neck was on other side of (then) Boundary Street, (now) Calhoun St. I am trying to locate WHERE several family connections lived in "Charleston Neck" - evidently at one time a suburban/rural area. Did "the Neck" include the present day location of Magnolia Cemetery? Also per recent deeds posted on List, I have photo-copy of 1852 Deed of Sale that identified property only as located in the Parish of St. James, Goose Creek - apparently quite a large area. Have no idea HOW to find location of property and thus identify former "home address" of family conections. Thanks for reading my questions ! Hopefully, someone on list will know the answers !!
