Caroline, Just looked in a Charleston telephone book and found the following: Brith Sholom Beth Israel Orthodox Congregation 182 Rutledge Avenue Charleston, SC 29401 Telephone 843-577-6599 Also, there is a Mr. Briebart who has done a lot of research on Jewish history in South Carolina. Not sure which Mr. Briebart, but you might be able to reach him through the synagogue above or at Beth Elohim/Reform Synagogue, 86 Hasell Street, Chas, SC, 29401.
