    2. The St James Santee Plantation Parish History and Records 1685 -1925 Axson, John Page 34n Captain John Axson lived and planted rice at Palo Alto Plantation. His Charleston residence was in Mazyckborough on Charlotte Street. In his will, dated 1840, he left his friend Thomas Gadsden a pope of Maderia wine. Page 154 John Axson gave 5 acre site on Islington Plantation for the rectory with the proviso that the land be returned if not used as a site for the rectory. Page 279 Palo Alto plantation was next to the Wedge. It was originally owed by Farr, then to William Douxsaint, John Axson, Dr Alexander Gadsden, Stephen Doar, then Samuel C Doar, ( Doar page 44) I do not know if you had this .
