I am new to several SC lists as of today, so I hope people will forgive me cross-posting my direct line surnames to several lists. JOHN DUBOIS was in Carolina by 1696, and was dead by 1723. His son, GASPARD (JASPER) m. SUSANNAH JUIN (dau. of Eliz. VIDEAU); their son, PETER DUBOIS m. ANNE MOUZON (dau. of ANN VIDEAU); their son, PETER DUBOIS m. ANN CLARKSON CARNE (dau. of MARY HUTCHINSON); their son, JOHN DUBOIS m. LOUISA WILLIAMS in 1825 after he moved to Alabama. Between 1696 and 1820 when my gggrandfather, Rev. JOHN DUBOIS, moved to Alabama, my direct line ancestors lived in Charleston, and owned lands, lived in, worshipped in, and were married and/or buried in several areas of present-day South Carolina. I am much more familiar with the Parish names than present counties, so until I find out exactly where my ancestors lived, I'll be looking many places.
