    3. Agreed here. Not that Edward is a grump. CJK, don't quit posting. I know I have to keep reminding myself that people cannot "hear" the tone of "voice" I'm using when I type and sometimes when I send something well-meaning I sound like a real witch. Just remember that when you put things in caps [surnames always acceptable in caps] it is like shouting, so saying PLEASE sounded something like my recalcitrant 13-year-old when he is demanding something rather than politely asking. I know you meant well. Elizabeth "Edward L. Manigault" wrote: > > CJK: > > Don't quit just because of one grump like me. That would rob everyone of the > chance to learn and share.

    3. Anyone researching or have information on Thomas Jones Jeffords (son of Daniel and Mary Jones Jeffords) who married Elizabeth Winningham? They would have married before 1855 as that is when their first son William H. was born. Thomas is listed as an "Overseer" on a rice plantation and they lived in Bluffton. Any information appreciated. John jwhitney@megabaits.net

    2. Hi Beth, I just read one of your articles on having 20 volumns of this magazine. Do you know how I can find which volumne a family would be listed in if they are listed at all? My family of Haigs came to Charleston in the early 1700s. They were George Haig and Elizabeth Watson. George Haig was murdered by Senneca Indians around 1750. Their son George Haig who married Mary Maham (daughter of Col Maham of Charleston) had died in 1790. His son was Hezekiah Maham who married Agnes Richie, Their son was Alexander Richie Haig who married Anne Marr. This gt. gt. grandfathr died around Sept. 1855. My gt grandfather was Alexander Richie Haig who married Elizabeth Witsell had died in Jan of 1907. These are all past grandfathers. I would like to find more on them. The only thing on George Haig who died in 1790 had come from St. Pauls Parish Records. stating that he had 270 slaves and owned lots of property in SC and Georgia. I know he attended a lot of meeting at St. Andrews Church. and I believe that he is burried in that cemetery. do you know if you have anything on these people in your volumns or how I could find where to look if the name would be in different volumns that you have? I would appreciate this so much Betty

    3. CJK: If you demand sources, I can not often respond in a positive manner. Please be assured that I do not make up the information I put on the site, but I do try to use some judgement in collating the sources of data. I do not charge for my "service", it is more like "you get what you pay for". 3. CJK: Even so, it would seem William Sr. would still have had to be married to two at the same time "if" Susannah was exiled to Philadelphia while he was in prison, AND assuming it was Susannah who was exiled. That is to assume that divorce was out of the question. I am now wondering if the "Elizabeth Axson" who d. 1802 might have been the wife of Wm. Jr? I don't have a date for either her or Elizabeth/Susannah. I have the date May 26, 1765, for the birth of Jacob. Do you have a date for him? It is correct that you don't know the source of my date for Jacob, and I don't either. I will be most willing to change it if you can offer a source. 1. Re: [SCCHARLE] AXSON / Mouzon
    2. Edward, I would love to know where you got the information, that it was Elizabeth , who was excile. Do you know if her and the 2 children you mention returned to SC ? I have been told that Elizabeth S Mouzon Axson died , right after the twins were born, but I donot have any thing in regards to proving this. ( NO documention ) I have had those that told me William Axson born 1767 was the one who married Eliz Mouzon , We know this can not be correct as they were married in 1761 Also note , that according to William Axson's will , that was sign by him on 2nd of Sept 1800 , his son Robert has not turned 21 years of age . I sure hope someone out there can help us in regards to the information , about the families being excile and when they returned to SC . This might help with the information regarding Elizabeth and William. Elizabeth, I have that the daughter of William & Elizabeth , who was born Dec 12, 1762 married Arthur Simmons on Dec 1783 Do you have any information regarding their children ? I do not have a mariage date for William and Mary. I do have copies of both their wills. This was my major source for the names of their childen. Thanks for the Information CJK

    3. The source for the WILLIAM AXSON - SUSANNAH/ELIZABETH MOUZON marriage and baptisms is the St. Thomas/St. Denis records. What is the source for the MARY MINOTT marriage and birth records? Maybe the first person who can get their hands on the Hug. Transactions can let us know more. E "Edward L. Manigault" wrote: > > I find it hard to understand how William had twins John and Jehu in > November, 1764 by Susannah Mouzon, then in May, 1765, had Jacob by Mary > Minott. Is the 1765 in error?
