    1. Re: [SCCHARLE] Magnolia Cemetery, Charleston
    2. Richard, My experiences are there is someone in the office and they will look up a name, but will give out no other information unless you pay them research fees. Which I ended up doing. They will give you a map and show you where the grave is, though. They were very helpful to me and I found several other family members which I didn't even know existed. Happy hunting. 2. It dawned on me that someone out there might know the answer to a question I've researched this summer, but have not found an answer for. Does anyone know how Thomas Hall Jervey, Capt. of the Saucy Jack Privateer, War of 1812, is related to my great grandfather, Thomas Hall Jervey Williams married to Julia Emma Middleton? Thomas Hall Jervey Williams' father was Dr. David (Ramsey or Rabum or Rogerson) Williams married to Mary Ann Whitesides. My grandfather, Dr. Lester A. Wilson, thought David R. Williams was a grandson or grand nephew to Thomas Hall Jervey. Can anyone help me? Margaret

Lynch and found that he and Elizabeth (Shubrick) Lynch had no children. They were married in 1772 and lost at sea in 1779, so even if they would have had issue, all might have been lost anyway. I then checked his siblings and (from my records) he was probably the only male born to Thomas and Elizabeth/Esther (Allston) Lynch. He had three sisters and may have had three half-sisters, children of his step-mother, Hannah Motte. There were other Lynches in the Ga./S.C. area and I will pass your query on to an S.C. genealogy site where someone else may be able to help. Perhaps they might be able to correct possible errors in my data, as well. I am hoping that you might be able to help me. I am doing research on my maternal side of the family. My mother has told me that she is related to the Thomas C. Lynch who signed the Declaration of Independence for South Carolina, but I am having difficulty finding the connection. My mother is Elizabeth Jane Shelton (Lynch). Her father was Thomas Chaille Lynch, his father was Manassas Clinton Lynch, his father was Thomas Jefferson Lynch and his father was William F. Lynch. I have gotten records from Chicot County Arkansas on William F. Lynch. I now that he married a Mrs. Penina Kidwell and that he was born in Georgia around 1793. Do you have any suggestions on what I can do now? I appreciate any advice that you are able to give to me. Sincerely, Gus.

I had thought that the family of Hyams to which Hamilton and Pinkney, who were brothers, according to the census belonged were just another group of Hyams and not related to mine. Then I remembered that I have a Hamilton Andrew Hymes, born in Darlington, 1865, son of Hyam Hyams/Hymes. I wonder if the name of Hamilton is just a coincidence? Thanks for the clue....gives me something more to work on. By the way, can you tell me how to check the archived messages on the SCCHARLEston-L@rootsweb ? 1. [SCCHARLE] James NOBLES
    2. Barry Fox
    3. Looking for information on James NOBLES (age 50, born SC) as listed in 1880 Charleston census. His wife is listed as Elizabeth, age 45, born SC. Children are (all born in SC): Annie (22) William (20) David (18) Hellen (12) Fannie (10) Thomas (8) James (6) I am especially interested in the daughter, Fannie. My g grandmother was Fannie NOBLES (11/16/1867-2/10/1889). Family "legend" says she was the daughter of William NOBLES of Dorchester county, but this daughter of James NOBLES is the only reference I have found to a Fannie NOBLES. Could James and William NOBLES be the same person? Any help would be appreciated. Barry Fox Greenville, SC
