Martha Jane had a brother Robert Murrell Severance b 1808-1887 and they were children along with 10 other brothers and sisters of Paul Severance and Hannah Huggins both 1770's to 1840's. Paul was son of Thomas Severance and Susannah Murrell. she was daughter of Robert Murrell Jr. 1693-1762 and Susannah Farr. Robert was Born in Essex Co., MA but died in Berkeley Co., SC. His father was Robert Sr. born before 1670 in Isle of Jersey England who emigrated to the Massachusetts Bay, but later moved his family to Berkeley Co., SC.
