Dec 1768 St. Philips Parish, Charleston, Berkeley, South Carolina, c. 26 Dec 1769 St. Philips Parish, Charleston, Berkeley, South Carolina; d. 5 Oct 1840. She was the daughter of Daniel Latham b. Abt 1743/1748 at Cow Neck, Long Island, New York; d. 20 Jul 1842 & buried in Quaker Cemetery, Charleston, South Carolina. >From the fiche on the Quakers in New York at the Family History Library, I found Daniel Latham's father's name: Daniel Latham b. Abt 1718, Cow Neck, Long Island, New York; d. 24 Jan 1801 in Cow Neck, Long Island, New York. He married Mrs. Latham between 4 Mar & 7 Apr 1742. Were there other children and does anyone have more on his ancestry and descendants? What was the South Carolina (born in New York) Daniel Latham's wife's name & ancestry, and what were all the names of his children, plus their dates and Place born? When I looked at one database, the date for his daughter, Elizabeth, did not sound right for her age when she married William Pritchard, a man who already had 8 children from his first marriage to Mary Norris on 23 May 1790 (Source: Pritchard letters to M. Alston Read. Mary Norris died in 1799). I don't know if Mary Norris was Quaker. Is there anything written on the ancestry of this Latham Family in the Quaker books? I have one item I found on Internet that refers to South Carolina Daniel Latham family obtained in Quaker Writings HomePage: qhpress.org/quakerpages/qwhp/hull124. "Stopping at an inn upon the road, I heard of the death of George Washington, the late president of the United States. He was a good example to statesmen and those in office; appearing to have the welfare of the community in view, rather than the honour of men or the profits of office. The day was an unpleasant one for traveling, by reason of the abundance of snow that fell, being more than twelve inches deep, a circumstance very unusual in this country. The Quarterly Meeting as Bush was large, and through Divine condescension proved a good time. here my companion, Joshua Lord, left me, in order to return home by land with Daniel Haviland, and Samuel Miles agrees to accompany me to Charleston. We had two meetings near Edisto, and then rode into the city and put up at Daniel Latham's where we were kindly entertained. We had a meeting with the few Friends resident there, and those from the north and east who board here during the winter; also one with the inhabitants more generally, both held in the house belonging to Friends. (Source: "Extracts From The Journal of Henry Hull: Memoir of the Life and Religious Labours of Henry Hull. Philadelphia: Friends' Book Store, 11873. Stereotyped edition. Pages 124-125)." Please help me with this endeavor that has frustrated me for so long. I need to find the information that has been missing in this section of my genealogy research. Thank you.
