Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon for Mrs. Jane Law Jones, 80, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Rosa Jones Gulledge in Moncks Corner. The Rev. Bert Williams, assisted by the Rev. Billy Nelson, conducted services at the First Baptist Church of Moncks Corner. Burial was at Wassamassaw Cemetery under the direction of Dial Funeral Home. Pallbearers were nephews, William E. Law, Norris Law, Edward Law, Charles Law, Clarence Law and Robert Law. Mrs. Jones was the daughter of the late Samuel E. and Katherine A. Dangerfield Law and was a member of the First Baptist Church. Mrs. Jones was the widow of the late Jadon S. Jones, Sr. She is also survived by a brother Frank E. Law of Charleston; two sisters, Mrs. S.D. Walling of Moncks Corner, and Mrs. D.M. Roberts of Jacksonville, Fla. and six grandchildren. NOTE: I'm seeking information on Janie Law Jones's daughter, Rosa, who in our family is known to have been the first Miss South Carolina. If you know anything of her I'd like to hear from you.
