I have a strong belief that he was the son of Jacob Motte, b. 1759 and thus the grandson of Jacob Motte, Jr. and Rebecca Motte. Am also seeking the descendency of J. R. Motte's sons Jacob Rhett Motte, Jr. and Charles I. Motte (2 sons ?). I have plenty on son Morris J. Motte.
