SC Obituaries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/SC/BerkeleyObits/10052 Surname: Adam Ingle, Leander Chandler, Larkin Chandler, Tom Wilson, Jim Wilson ------------------------- I believe some of the Chandlers came after the Irish Potato famine. These people settled in Yancey County, NC. We have tracked the Chandlers back to Greenville, SC. We don't know how long they were there. I have Wilsons on my mother's side and they probably came to America first. The Wilsons were in Yancey Co. before the 1850tys and had a large land grant. Adam Ingle or his forefathers are of particular interest since this is a direct line.

    2. Barry Fox
    3. I have a number of Low Country roots that I have been researching for quite a few years. Recently I started a methodical trek through the SC census records starting from 1800 moving forward looking for specific names. In order to share this information with other researchers I have created small websites with this information. I have also sent the URLs to each county's website coordinator hoping it would be posted there as well. To get a quick jump on spreading the info, I decided to send to the mailing list. I hope someone finds this useful. William George BANNISTER was called George William BANNISTER in the will of his uncle, John COOK [Jr.] COOK, Jr., named Ann BANNISTER as sister and Hezekiah MAHAN as brother [brother-in-law?]. I believe that William George BANNISTER was the son of William BANNISTER [died 1774 intestate] and Ann COOK, the grandson of John COOK and possibly a Miss BALL, daughter of William BALL, Sr. Any help in locating information about William George BANNISTER and/or other family members listed will be very much appreciated.
