I am hoping to find someone with information and even more hopefully, a picture of the plantation house which my Russ ancestors owned in the 1700's. I understand it was still standing and in use up to a short time ago, at least. Maybe it still is, though it perhaps was in danger of being torn down, to make room to build newer developements. It was named Cainhoy. Thank you so much

I don't presently have a George W. or William C. Drury in my data, but this may prove helpful to another Drury researcher. I am posting it to this list because the will references his father as William C. DRURY who held property in that county. My DRURYs, so far, came form England to Anne Arundel and Prince Georges Co., MD and then to D. C. Interestingly, a collateral line does have a BERKELEY (surname, not county) marriage. Here is the will: Cover page: Will of George W. Drury F I L E D May 1, 1918 J. W. Glennan, Counselor At Law, Warden Building Washington, D. C. Will: Last Will and Testament of George W. Drury Be it remembered, that I, George W. Drury, of Washington, District of Columbia, being of lawful age an of sound and disposing mind and memory, but mindful of the uncertainty of life, do make, publish and declare this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me made. After the payment of my just debts, funeral expenses, and expenses of administration of my estate, I dispose of my estate as follows: - I give, devise and bequeath to my wife, Ida B. Drury, all of my personal estate wheresoever situated, including my distributive share of the proceeds of sale of the land in Berkeley County, State of South Carolina, said money being now in the hands of the Trustees. I give and devise to my wife, Ida B. Drury, all of my interest in the land in Lake County, State of Florida, containing twelve (12) acres of land, more or less, absolutely and in fee simple, the title to said land being held by the Trustees for the purpose of selling and making distribution, this piece of land and the aforesaid tract of land in South Carolina being a part of the Estate of my father, William C. Drury, deceased. The rest, residue and remainder of my estate, real and personal, which I have not disposed of in this will, or which I may own or be entitled to at the time of my death, I hereby give, devise and bequeath absolutely and in fee simple, to my wife, Ida B. Drury. Lastly, I hereby constitute and appoint John W. Glennan, executor of this my last will and testament. In Testimony Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal to this my last Will and Testament, at the City of Washington, District of Columbia, this second day of August 1917. /George W. Drury/ (seal) Signed and sealed by the said George W. Drury in our presence and by him published and declared as and for the last Will and Testament,. and at his request, and in his presence, and in the presence of each other, we hereunto subscribe our name as attending witnesses, at Washington, District of Columbia, this second day of August 1917. Hi, I am looking for any information on my ggg aunt, Sarah Eakins, who married Samuel Biggerstaff in 1798 in Rutherford Co., NC. Sally was the d/o Joseph Eakins and Isabella Walcup, Irish immigrants from County Tyrone about 1770 to Charleston, SC. The Eakins family lived in SC until during the Revolution or a little after. They then moved to Rutherford Co. Joseph is on the 1790 NC census list. Samuel was the s/o Benjamin Biggerstaff and Mary Van Zant. Sally was supposedly born in SC. I am trying to find any info on Joseph and Isabella and their years in SC. I have lots on this family back to about 1790-1800, but beyond that--zilcho. Any help-info would be most appreciated.
