Grant from George II As you can see we spell the name a little differently having descended from German ancestors. However, I have found our name spelled both ways in old records. Let me hear from you as I can trace the Chupps from SC into Georgia, if you think this may connect to your family somehow.

I called the Gether's Funeral Home and the cemetery across from Bi-Lo and Wal-Mart on Old Hwy 52 is "St. James". On some of the cemetery markers the name Doric was there and the kind gentleman that I spoke to at Gether's said that is a vault company located in Florence, SC. With George Ballentine's help we found the Appii Way Church Cemetery and have photographed it yesterday. It has some super headstones that are quite interesting. Today I will begin working on the index for the cemetery page to make it easier for researchers to see if their line is represented. If you are looking for a specific line I really suggest you view all stones of that line. We have just put the name and date on the county page to save space but some stones contain names of spouses and children that may prove helpful. Thanks so much to those that contacted me with directions you all are a great group. Have a super day. Bushy

I wanted to clarify my request for cemeteries. I am in search of cemeteries that possibly someone's husband or a family member may of stumbled over in the woods while hunting. They would not be listed in the present cemetery book. If you know of one I will need the nearest street name and some sort of landmark to go by. I sure appreciate all your help with this. One other item, we found a headstone in the cemetery across from Bi-Lo (which I will contact Doric Funeral Home that performed some of the burials and find out the name of the cemetery) and wanted to know if anyone is researching the following lines or recognizes their names? Annie Eliza Reid, b. 9 Jun 1829; d. 29 Sep 1898 d/o E.H. & E.R. or Joseph Ferguson, b. 25 Aug 1892; d. 2 Oct 1960 Thanks so much Bushy mihartman@infoave.net
Hi all, The left side of Macedonia Church Cemetery is now on the Berkeley Co. web page. We have photographed the back and Mike is now working on preparing that section for the web page. We photographed the Providence Baptist Church in Macedonia and that will be the next cemetery going up along with "Cooper's Memorial" a small cemetery also in Macedonia. Tomorrow we plan on photographing the cemetery on Rt 17-A somewhat across from the Convalescent Home would anyone know the name of that cemetery? What is the ethnic group buried there? What is the name of the cemetery on old 52 across from Bi-Lo and Wal-Mart? What is the ethnic group buried there? We photographed that one today and it will be going up after the above mentioned cemeteries, but I just don't know the name of it. Does anyone have directions to the cemetery that I believe is called Appey way or something like that near Rt 6? You have to trek through the woods and cross a wooden bridge where a church use to be. I hope I have that right. If you know what I am talking about please contact me with directions. If anyone knows of those hidden cemeteries that most folks aren't aware of please let us know. With fall approaching this would be a safer time to travel through snake prone areas than in summer. Thanks so much we appreciate the help. You all have a great weekend.
