    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Palmer Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/IeB.2ACI/81.1 Message Board Post: Believe the David Palmer of Beaufort that you are seeking an obit for was known as Manny to most who knew him. Manny operated The Yankee which was on Boundary Street. Among other things, The Yankee was known for having some of the best sandwhiches in town including The Yankee Burger. After Manny's death his wife Pearl operated The Yankee for a few years until there was a dispute over the lease. The Yankee was torn down in the mid 90's and a Boys Club was built on the site. Pearl passed away about a year ago. If memory serves me right Manny came to Beaufort in the late 50's or early 60's. He was originally from New Jersey. Most of us remember Pearl and there was a son who used to help out in The Yankee. Believe the son is still living in Beaufort and currently employeed by WJWJ, the local PBS station. Manny was laid to rest in the Hebrew cemetery on bladen Street. His obituary appeard in the local newspaper, "The Beaufort Gazette" which I believe was only published 5 days a week in 1982.
