No oral history has survived to tell us where he landed. Assume Charleston. We first found him in Georgia with no family, then by 1830's in Florida with a wife and he started family there. We know he had a sister Anastacia and stories say his father was a teacher at an academy in Beaufort. We don't know his parents' names. From naming conventions, his father was possibly named Patrick Walsh. Have looked through all historic educational institutions online and nothing dates that far back. Must have been a smaller school and disappeared. Where would I find records of it and the teachers for it?
