My grandfather on my fathers side was Major Lewis Johnson, 1851-1941. He died in Cleburne, Texas. He suposedly came from Beaufort, South Carolina at age 9, as a cabin boy on a ship which was caught in a storm and was sunk. He suposedly made it to an island where he was rescued a couple of weeks later and eventually made it to Texas. I would like to find out his parents name and related information. Can anyone provide me with information?
