I've tried to reach the "Cowperthwaite's", on many of ocassions. I got their address and telephone numbers from the SC information. I've never received a response from them. I figured they wanted to sweep that part of Bonnie Hall's history back under the rug. I've traced my great-great-great-grandfather and grandmother,(as children), back to 1870, both living on the the Bonnie Hall plantation. It was then owned by the Blake family. The Blake's were an early American colonial family given a parcel of land in SC by the King of England. They were the largest slave owners in the Carolinas. My ggg-grandfather Robert Green/e died on the plantation in 1929 or 1930. My ggg-grandmother Linda Singleton Green/e passed between 1908 and 1910. All of their children were born on B.H. Many of my great aunts and uncles were still listed there on the 1930 federal census for Beaufort, SC, Sheldon County. I have more information I can share with you pri! vately. I would greatly appreciate any help you can give. Again, thank you so very much for responding. Hope to hear from you soon. Sincerely yours, Senora Amos Senamo@aol.com
