I am interested in information on my ancestor Demetrius Augustus Bland, born in SC 1821, reportedly in Beaufort County. Some sources say his father was Richard Bland of Beaufort County. He married Lucy Elizabeth Glaze in Avoyelles Parish, LA in 1854 and died 1903 in Shreveport, LA, having spent 20 or more years in east Texas beginning in the early 1860s.
