Hi, I grew up in Beaufort... Gullah is a local dialect that is spoken there, specifically on St. Helena Island and surrounding areas in Beaufort County, just outside of the City of Beaufort. Probably two of the best resources are Ron and Natalie Daise, two Beaufortonians that have embraced the Gullah heritage and continue to keep it alive.
