He owned the Retreat Plantation. There is a collection of his business papers and correspondence at University of North Carolina Library at Chapel Hill, Southern Historical Collection. This is a summary of the collection: William Page, 1764-1827, of Retreat Plantation, St. Simons Island, Glynn County, Georgia, grew rice and Sea Island cotton. He also owned Colonel's Island, Georgia. This collection consists primarily of business papers of Page related to ownership of land; purchase of articles for plantation and personal use; purchase and hire of slaves; settlement of estates of John Timmons, Thomas Cater, and Joseph Dopson; the upbringing of Cater's son, Benjamin Cater; shipment and marketing of cotton; and accounts of commission merchant, Hugh Ross.
