I have a little more info on Dopson, but nothing at all on Dora Lugg. I've been to St. Helena's cemetery in Beaufort, but there are no Lugg graves there. Their archives have not been digitized, and are not open to members of the public without special permission. I have to contact their archivist and ask for an appointment, which I've been remiss in not doing. Most of what I have on the Dopsons came from Judge Huxford many years ago. There is some confusion about Charles Isaac's father and grandfather (both named Joseph R.). One of them fought in the Revolution, probably the older. There is some indication he died at the Battle of Ramsors Mill in NC in 1780, while fighting with Capt. Dalton's Volunteers from Pr. Wm. Parish. There is also a connection to the Hardins, a prominent Beaufort County clan. Let me know if you'd like more. Thanks again for your interest. Someday we'll break through the Lugg "brick wall". -- Kathleen Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
