I was told that that "Walker", as he was called, died before 1910 in Beaufort and was buried there. All my inquires about his burial place has produced no results. I know nothing about him and would like to know who his parents were. The census says he was born in SC but not where. My great grandmother was Lucy Ann Brunson, born Sept 1, l866 in SC. Her mother was Jane Florance Jackson, born about 1840, and her father was William M. Brunson. I believe they were in the Allendale county area or Barnwell Co. area of SC. Lucy Brunson had 4 brothers. They were: Aiken, Johnny A., William Haygood and Clark Brunson. Clark died at age 9 and Johnny never married. Would like to know who "Haygood" married and where they lived. Lucy Shepherd, widow, next married a William West of Screven Co. Ga. who was a widower with children. They lived in Screven Co. Ga. My grandmother, Leah Shepherd was married in Screven Co. Ga. to Hiram May Curry from Washington Co. Ga. Don't know when her sisters were married or died. My great grandmother died, Feb. l, 1952, in Savannah, Ga. but was buried in Screven Co. Ga. in the Jackson church cemetery out from Sylvania Ga. If you can be of some help to me, please contact me by email to curryt@ij.net as I do not usually visit this site.

Then I was told by several folks, that he was buried on the farm of Daniel's and the grave site lost. Therefore, the stone in the church yard. Trouble is we were also told John died in 1822. Problem is Daniel did not own that land till after 1822! We have theorized that it was not his father, but a brother buried on the farm, that the dates are wrong, or John was buried back home. We have also found very early a William Thornton in Washington, TN 1777. Then there is a William Thornton living near John Nave Jr in Jefferson, TN in 1794. This William moves to Clark, KY for two years in 1795. Then he leave there and then is back in Jefferson, TN in 1800. This William is no longer there around 1803 and behold, we now have John, Daniel and Thomas Thornton living next to John Nave! We have always wondered if "Old William" was not the father or at least uncle of John given the fact that it is known William was in the area in 1777. As a matter of fact it states in the court documents that in 1777 he had an old cabin there already in 1777. John is supposed to be born in 1764. There is "no way" he could be comtemporary with William. John has to be a nephew, son or younger brother of William. Almost all the folks around Daniel and William come from VA or SC. Some like the Sherrill's and Neff's do come out of PA in the 1730's, but then dropped down into Augusta, VA. We have been tracking John and William diligently for over two years now and are fast closing the circle. Now we have some old family history sheets in the Marshall, MO library that indicate Polly the wife of John was a possible relative of Shadrack Chance of Accomack, VA. The Chance family was originally from MD, Shadrack went back to MD after he retired from the Colonial navy. Hope this helps some, maybe we could work together to speed this process up! There are a couple of us already. Would really like to find out how you got the New England info! Thanks, talk to you soon.
