    3. Listers, O to be able to buy goods at US prices, In Australia I purchased a 1650 for double this price 12 months ago in normal use I am happy with it. I just had a look at Epson site in Aust and they only have 1660 photo & 1670 photo. No price listed. This is away from what I wanted to put forward. With 1600 series at least the back light in the lid is max 60mm wide and is OK when scanning Slides and 35mm Film Negs. with the included Transparency Unit. But what if you have the older negs that are greater than the even smallish 90mm x 60mm negatives. To scan these you turn off the Thumbnail Preview and scan one at a time. I have found this very time consuming and at times very difficult to centre the negative. With silver side up locating it on the flat bed (I try to use a piece of glass to hold it in place) so as to scan the section of importance I also find to be very frustrating. These are also at original size, to look at any detail you are required to redo a preview. This requires marking the size and doing another Preview. Add this to the Preview speed, determined by the size of the Resolution. I try to preview at low Res and when scanning up grade the size of the resolution. Does anybody have any thoughts on this.
