If the updated Driver is issued by HP then my experience with the company tells me you will be OK. They are a very thorough Company in anything they put their name to. Only wish they would bring out a new driver for my trusty HP Scanjet 4s. One tip I will give you, is to always download these updates to a floppy and keep it in a safe place. If you ever have to rebuild/reinstall them it saves hours of download time. Your experience with Windows XP is just starting. When you register it (and its compulsory) you will start to get notification of updates which can take hours to download and there doesn't appear to be away you can save these for future use.
