Dave, Imagine if you held the Slide (color or no) between a very bright light (like the Sun, for instance) and your camera... simply focus and shoot. Now imagine that you could design something tube-shaped that fit between your camera lens and the Slide (to block superfluous light). Furthermore, this device would be just the exact length to hold the Slide the correct distance from the camera so that the image would just fill the frame. You could even hand-hold such a device, since the slide and the camera would always move in the same direction. Imagine that.
