Well that got things moving. Here's my two penneth. I use a Visioneer Strobe Pro Scanner which scans my documents into Paperport version 7.0 . This is a through feed scanner and I probably do about 12,000 scans a year mainly of A4 size and in B&W line art. Occasionally the scanner will loose its port on the computer and freeze. I then have to shut everything down and reboot the computer whereupon it finds the port and everything is OK until next time. I'm not sure if this fault is a function of the Scanner or Paperport. Has anyone else had this problem? I notice that Paperport is now upto version 10 and wonder if an upgrade might solve the problem? Incidentally I would Highly recommend Paperport as a filing system for ALL your scanned material.
