I wrote some=20 early comments a few weeks ago on 19 November under the subject heading=20 Digital Photo Albums if you are looking in the archives. Provided you haven't changed the names of the images you can change the=20 folder/drive they are in and the program will update for you when you tel= l=20 it what you've done. A feature I have used a lot is copying a group of photos to another folde= r.=20 The photos are not themselves imported into BR-photoarchiver but since it= =20 knows where they are, you can copy them to somewhere else. I've been=20 keeping photos in folders reflecting their origin in folder and filename=20 (I've been scanning albums borrowed from cousins). I've imported these=20 photos into BR-photoarchiver and sorted them into family groups by giving= =20 each photo a category (you can give a photo more than one category) and=20 then copying a category to a relevant folder ready to attach to my=20 genealogy program (Legacy). (Note I've left out a step - when I scan I scan an archive copy but also=20 save a smaller copy with the same name in subfolder ready to use in my=20 genealogy.) When you copy, you have the choice of keeping the same name, using the ID= =20 in the program as the file name of generating another set of filenames -=20 you give it the template including the first number you wish to use and i= t=20 generates the rest of the filenames and copies the photos to the relevant= =20 folder. I've tested this rename feature but haven't used it otherwise as = I=20 want to know where the photos came from. You could find the photos you wanted to copy by doing a search on any oth= er=20 field. I've also found the support good as I've emailed for clarification or hel= p=20 on particular features. Baard seems very open to suggestions for=20 improvements and has some in the pipeline. 3. Has anyone tried Qimage? There is a 30 day evaluation version. The web site shows a most interesting comparison of pictures resized with Qimage and an expensive name-brand image program. http://www.ddisoftware.com/qimage/ I'm happy with my current keep-it-simple Windows XP send-to-email resizing for Family Tree Maker scrapbooks and e-mail attachments. Paint Shop Pro 7.04 used for scanning and image touchups. Haven't found a need to use a separate digital photo album. The largest-ever FTM scrapbook is up to 225 images for one person sorted by date and those can be printed by category -- Family, Business, Church etc. Elizabeth ----- Original Message ----- From: "Cathy Pinner" > I've been testing this software too and have now bought it. I think I probably tuned out when I saw the reference to CLOOZ. But, I am glad we came to similar independent conclusions about the software. Ron
