does anyone on this list know how to make a layered picture, after you've scanned five separate pictures? I am trying to make a family crest of their heraldry using the paint shop pro 8 program? I am having a terrible time trying to layer the five pictures into one for the family crest. If anyone knows how to do this, please help me with this. Thank you so VERY much! Sarah [email protected]

Sarah, Can you give a little more information on what you are trying to do? Are you making the crest and trying to superimpose the pictures on top of it? Do the pictures form part of the design of the crest itself? I am not too proficient with Paint Shop Pro, but if I understand a little more of what you are trying to do I might be able to help. Maybe someone else on the list will be better able to help you. Hi Sarah, I was doing something similar with layers yesterday with psp7 and learnt a bit about using layers. When you paste, you can paste as a layer (sometimes this is greyed out and I could only sometimes work out why - I think the base image has to be a format like psp that saves layers and also I think it greyed sometimes if I hadn't saved for awhile) You can also paste as a transparent selection. This seems to wipe the background colour - which was fine for one of my projects as I was working with black and white maps. It is easier to place a transparent selection because you can see through it but once placed, you can't pick it up again and move it like you can if it's on another layer. Have you checked out the Help file and tutorials? I expect you'll find help there.
