Every now and then, my Microtek "ScanMaker E3" refuses to be "recognized". It then becomes necessary to turn off the scanner and pull the SCSI plugs at BOTH ends ,AND reboot. Usually it will work for quite a while, then out of the blue I have to do it all over again. I have no idea why. Lacking a better reason, I blame it on Microsoft.
