Son James to have land where I live joining Todd's line to Brown's Road, thence to brother Samuel's line, including house where James now lives. Balance of home tract at wife's death to sons Ephraim and Kelsey and Samuel may have priviledge of settling on the piece of land that me and my wife inherited from her father, Abraham Mayfield to use and cultivate until death of my wife. Daughter Sally is under age. Three older daughters Peggy, Dorcas and Katharine receive amount that may arise out of sale of their grandfather Mayfield's land that now Peggy Mayfield has the use of. This next is from Georgia: A Henry McCoy obtained headright land in Jackson County in 1803. A Henry is found in Greene County, Ga., in 1820 and another in Morgan County, where E., Jacob, John (2), Lewis and Thomas also were enumerated. Hugh and Thomas were in Hall County that year; John was in Warren County; Nathaniel in Wilkes County; and James in Oglethorpe County, where Alexander married Polly Hodge Feb. 12, 1800. The name Henry McCoy, afavorite in the family, is found in Wilkes County in 1786 as witness for a deed from Peter, Daniel and Jacob (sons of Laurence) Bankston, in 1807 with John McCoy as appraisers of John Billingslea, and in 1822 as son-in-law of Thomas Lackey, mentioned in the latter's will; three Henry McCoys were enumerated in South Carolina in 1790.
