Hi to the list: I am new to this list, and hoping to get some help from someone who understands the 1790 census in the Pendleton Dist. It states that Elisha GARLIN (GARLAND) and Jesse GARLIN (GARLAND) which were brothers ( I think) was in the area at this time. SNDX -------L. name------F. name------nars-------str1---- pg#-----family grp.------------ twp G645---------Garlin---------Elisha---------m637-----033----081-------01-00-06-00-00-----no listed G645---------Garlin---------Jesse----------m637----033-----081-------01-01-04-00-00-----no listed Questions: As you can see the census say the same on both except first name and family grp. does this mean they were living in same household, did they have to own land to be in this census? Is there anyway to tell which Co. they would be in after the division of Pendleton Dist.? Last but not least could someone tell me the meaning of each number listed under family grp.
