Susan, Saw where a John B. Quailes was one of the appraisers of the estate of Tilman B. Garrett on 31 March, 1849 A John Qualls was at the estate sale of Samuel Warren 30 December 1841. The sale was held at Soldiers Retreat, the plantation owned by the late Col. Samuel Warren. A John Qualls was at the estate sale of Fair Kirksey. Rec'd 1 August 1845. That is all I could find, not much help as to a death date for John. I am interested in your Brock and Elrod surnames. I have a Mary Brock born abt 1785 and died 1851 as the wife of Thomas Elrod born 1775 and died Sept. 1845. Also, have a couple ot Timms and Hembrees. My mother was an Elrod.
